The Nerd Herd Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to making STEM accessible for every curious mind. We believe that every child deserves a chance to explore, create, and lead.
Our mission is simple: To empower every child with access to quality STEM learning, inspiring them to become tomorrow's innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders.
The demand for support and resources in education and community outreach has never been greater. Teachers often face significant challenges with limited tools and funding, while communities seek innovative programs to inspire and engage. Here at The Herd, we recognize these gaps and are committed to addressing them by bringing attention to the critical need for enhanced educational and outreach opportunities.
Through our non-profit efforts, we bridge the gap between need and solution. By providing resources, workshops, and tailored programs, we empower teachers, enrich communities, and create lasting impact. Together with our supporters, we transform ideas into action, ensuring that no opportunity to inspire or uplift goes unfulfilled.
Teaching is a cornerstone of our communities, yet educators often face overwhelming challenges with limited resources and support. We strive to empower teachers by providing them with much-needed resources to enhance their classrooms. Through grants, training sessions, and collaborative outreach, we aim to create an environment where educators can thrive, inspiring the next generation of leaders and thinkers.
Learning doesn’t have to be confined to the classroom! Our free demonstrations are designed to bring excitement and hands-on experiences to both students and the community. From interactive science experiments to entertaining demonstrations, these events are all about sparking curiosity and making learning fun.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals in supporting our community.
We strive to make science fun and accessible for all. Through our free, interactive science shows in schools, we engage students with hands-on experiments that bring STEM to life.
Beyond the classroom, we’re committed to strengthening our community by offering volunteer opportunities, donation drives, and resources that bring us together in support of a brighter future. Together, we’re building a foundation of knowledge, inspiration, and support for every young mind
National surveys indicate that parental and community volunteerism in schools has decreased. For instance, studies show a drop from over 80% involvement in the 1980s to around 50-60% in recent years.
Surveys show that around 50% of educators believe that lack of access to appropriate accommodations and resources significantly limits STEM participation for students with special needs.
Low-income students often express interest in STEM careers, with studies showing that over 70% have aspirations to work in STEM fields. However, only about 20% feel they have the necessary support to pursue these pathways.
